Introduction
Good leaders have always been expected to be able to solve new problems, capitalize on new opportunities and navigate through the ever-changing landscape of business. Leadership is a complex process by which the leader influences others to perform and achieve. The leadership attributes – belief, values, ethics, character, knowledge, and skills are all traits, which can be learned. This course provides the basis for understanding what leadership is and what leaders do to be successful.

Course Benefits
At the end of this 3-day workshop, the participants will be able to:

Introduction:
Community mobilization is an attempt to bring both human and non-human resources together to undertake developmental activities in order to achieve sustainable development.

Community mobilization is a process through which action is stimulated by a community itself, or by others, that is planned, carried out, and evaluated by a community’s individuals, groups, and organizations on a participatory and sustained basis to improve the health, hygiene and education levels so as to enhance the overall standard of living in the community. A group of people have transcended their differences to meet on equal terms in order to facilitate a participatory decision-making process. In other words it can be viewed as a process which begins a dialogue among members of the community to determine who, what, and how issues are decided, and also to provide an avenue for everyone to participate in decisions that affect their lives.

Monitoring & Evaluation Training for ORHAN staff in Vavuniya - 07.09.2012


It was another imperative training that was organized by ZOA for their partner organization 'ORHAN' (Organization for Rehabilitation of the Handicapped) in Vavuniya on a very essential subject 'Monitoring & Evaluation', especially on Livelihood interventions.
The ZOA intended to focus on their new face on Livelihood in the coming future in their keen journey towards assisting the vulnerable communities in Vavuniya district. Along with their other sectors of humanitarian interventions, the organization is foreseen a new face of Livelihood in their future. A segment of the exposure, the organization efforts to strengthen their partners by offering the trainings which are able to deliver knowledge on sustainable livelihood.

As their first effort, the PMC carried out a training session on ‘Monitoring and Evaluation’ to the operational and support staff of ORHAN in order to prepare them for a better way of moving towards providing a competent livelihood supports to their beneficiaries. The day was wholly packed with a very limited time, and the PMC made its high efforts to make this training success.
In a very short time, the PMC trainer has taken the participant throughout the following topics as much as possible avoiding unrealistic theories.

 The training was indeed valuable for their current positions of the participant according to their feedback. The participant admitted that the time was actually petite and gained knowledge as maximum as they could. Also, they requested for further detailed training on the same subject in the future.

The PMC is appreciative to ZOA and extend its gratitude for providing the opportunity to conduct a very expedient training. Also, the PMC offers it’s thanks to the programme manager of ZOA and the chairman of ORHAN for their indebtedness on the services that the PMC is still offering to its partners.

Also, we congratulate both organizations for their ever lasting supports to the vulnerable people those who are in need and use their prospects to make the lives of the people changed especially on their vulnerability.
